The ENIAC





The ENIAC is said to be the first digital computer. The ENIAC was invented by two people named Jonh Mauchly and J. Presper Eckert. The accronym ENIAC stands for "Electronic Nuemerical Integrator and Computer". They began making it in 1943 and ended in 1946, and the place where they made it was the University of Pennsylvania. The ENIAC is very large as you can see in the picture, and is weighed about 50 tons.

Difference Engine No. 2



People say the Difference Engine is the first computer ever made. The person who improved it was Charles Babbage, he is known as "The father of the computer". How you use the computer you have to crank a handel that is how it is powered, it uses the decimal numbers system. The British government did not support it so they did not support him anymore. In 1834 through 1869 he improved the Difference engine and called is Difference Engine No. 2. People say that it was the first electronic computer ever made.

The Abacus




The Abacus was the first calculating system. The Abacus and was invented by the Chinese, it is not exactly a computer, but the ideas of the calculator came from the Abacus. People who made the computers that are in the world today, got the idea of putting a calculator in the computers from the Abacus.
